Unfortunately, the Seventh Generation Automatic Dishwasher gel needs to be reformulated and re-released. It's the only product from the company that I don't like and won't buy again until it's "fixed".
When it comes to environmental friendliness, this company is at the top. I have most of their other products and have been crazy happy about them, but not this one.
Like many reviewers have mentioned, you almost need to wash your dishes first before putting them in the machine with this gel. My dishes come out feeling greasy, still having spots on them, and often still having basic food items stuck that would have normally been cleaned off by leading dishwasher gels.
I have tried using prewash with additional gel, as well as going completely overboard and putting 3x the amount I should into the dishwasher. Same results - unclean dishes that have to be washed again with a different type of gel.

I LOVE the smell of this product but EVERY time it comes its leaking. Its the fault of amazon - as the original box is clearly labelled "This End Up" but amazon re-packaged it in a bigger box, laying on its side! I've gotten it three times and each time it had leaked all over. These paper towels are comparable to the ones you would find from a dispenser at the movies or other public restrooms. They are not strong, not even close. They are very thin and you would need at least 2 to do the same job as a better paper towel- ie. bounty. And the roll itself is actual smaller than a regular paper towel roll. I got a roll for free and I would personally never waste my money on these paper towels. And this may be a minor gripe, but the actual brown color of the towel is very tacky and cheap-looking. It actually looks as if you took it from a public restroom. Besides it being 'green' I find nothing redeaming about this particular paper towel. This is a great product for those who want to do their (however small) part for the environment. It still suds up the way Dawn or other non-green brands might and cleans just as well, too. I like the fact that it doesn't have fragrance because I like the scent of the reed diffuser in my kitchen and don't want this to clash. I won't be using the detergent for another 4 months when baby arrives but I thought I'd address the leaking bottles. I was worried mine would arrive in a similar condition but they were all fine, no caps broken, no leakage. I probably do not do everything I should to help with the enviroment, but I try to do what I can where I can. I purchased this to see how effective a natural product can be on my clothes and I was very impressed.
I chose the Blue Eucalyptus & Lavender scent. It was not as strong as others have commented, so that was a relief. I am not a huge fan of heavily scented "infused" clothing, but I do want them to smell fresh and clean, and this product met that need.
I have not had any issues with colors fading. I do use an HE washer, and this product met it's claim about it not "over-sudsing".

However, it's becoming cost prohibitive given the current state of the economy; it's $1 or more a roll. Recyclable fiber is abundant, and its price is historically low. Normally we use towels or rags for clean up. But, sometimes you need paper towels. These are great paper towels. I like the fact that they are all recycled, not bleached, two ply, thick, non-shedding, and 120 sheet rolls. For the price on amazon, it is a great deal compared to the store. With 30 rolls in a case, you won't need to order these too often. Use subscribe and save for more savings. I also recommend Seventh Generation toilet paper. I have been using the Downy Lavendar Vanilla scented fabric softener. I saw this at a great price on Amazon and decided to try it. My box had a tiny bit of leakage. The smell and the soft feeling it leaves on my clothing is wonderful. I have front loaders and it works fine with my he detergent (also Seventh Generation or Method brand). I've never had tupperware come out squeaky before. This will do the trick. Not only does it clean normal dishes marvelously, it cleans plastic storage containers better than anything I've ever used. I've been using Seventh Generation for the last several years mainly for environmental reasons, but last Sept. we ran out and I had to buy something other than this. My daughter broke out in a rash and odd bumps a few days later. When I switched back to Seventh Generation a week later, the rash cleared up on its own and we haven't seen it since. I ended up using up the other stuff on my husband's jeans.
